Rotary President Steve Blackburn shares his background in architecture, art, and community leadership since joining the Cedaredge Rotary Club.
—
Steve Blackburn joined the Rotary Club of Cedaredge in 2024 after moving to town and quickly embraced the club’s spirit of service and volunteerism. A retired architect with more than 40 years of experience, Steve has served as Sergeant-at-Arms and now leads the club as its President, encouraging members to set goals, stay engaged in service, and celebrate accomplishments together.
Steve and his wife Dee have lived in Cedaredge since September 2023. They enjoy the strong sense of community, the thriving arts scene, and the outdoor recreation opportunities beneath the nearby Grand Mesa.
Steve hopes Rotary will continue attracting new members, supporting local businesses, mentoring future leaders, and serving the Cedaredge community with excellence.
Besides Rotary, what do you enjoy most?
"I am an artist and author. Currently, I’m creating a series of architectural sketches of historic buildings in Delta County. For the past five years, I’ve also been writing my autobiography to leave a legacy for my two children, who live and work in Germany.
As a Christian businessman, I host a weekly Bible study for a few men in my home. I like traveling, swimming, hiking, sketching, watercoloring, dreaming, reading, studying the Bible, and investing in the future."
