Cedaredge Rotary welcomed Michelle Roberts, a Desert Storm veteran and local real estate broker, who shared insights on the Delta County housing market and several community initiatives supporting veterans and youth.

The Rotary Club of Cedaredge recently welcomed Michelle Roberts for an informative and inspiring presentation. Roberts is a Desert Storm veteran, broker and owner of Lovemore Real Estate, and founder of both the Delta Youth Foundation and Sovereign Roots Veterans Retreat.
Roberts shared an update on the local housing market while highlighting her work building stronger support systems for veterans and youth in Delta County. A mother of five and longtime advocate for service members and families, she explained how her professional and nonprofit efforts complement one another.
“Lovemore Real Estate isn’t just a business — it’s the primary engine that helps fund my community initiatives,” Roberts said. While she briefly mentioned her national company, Veterans Housing Network, her daily focus remains firmly rooted in serving the local community.
A Market Grounded in Lifestyle
With more than 20 years of experience in real estate, Roberts noted continued buyer interest in Delta County driven by the area’s lifestyle, open space, and strong sense of community. While the post-pandemic surge has cooled, home values have remained steady. Realistic pricing, she emphasized, remains key to successfully selling homes in the current market.
Supporting Veterans Through Connection and Nature
Roberts also provided updates on the Sovereign Roots Veterans Retreat on California Mesa, which she and her husband — both combat veterans — are developing as a place for veterans to reconnect, decompress, and build community. The retreat focuses on addressing PTSD and moral injury through holistic, peer-centered practices including agriculture, music and art therapy, equine work, and time in nature.
Although the retreat’s cabins and tipis are still under development, monthly “Rally Point” bonfires are already bringing veterans together in meaningful ways.
Giving Youth a Place to Grow
Roberts also highlighted the Delta Youth Foundation’s flagship program, True West Boxing & Fitness. Built on the belief that mentorship and structure help young people thrive, the program is seeing strong participation from across the region.
Volunteer coaches report improvements in confidence, discipline, school performance, and overall health among participating youth. The program is preparing to move into its new Main Street location in Delta, with an anticipated opening later this spring. The new space will include a community gathering area, a 1,200-square-foot boxing gym, and future plans for arts programming and entrepreneurial education.
A Heart for Community
Roberts closed with a simple but powerful message: whether helping someone buy a home, mentoring youth, or supporting veterans, the focus remains the same — people.
“My goal,” she said, “is to strengthen families, support those who have served, and invest in Delta County’s future in a way that leaves the community better than I found it.”
