David Rasmussen, local Cedaredge author and miner shared stories from his trilogy series Legend of the Shaman. “Still a gold miner at heart,” Dave has done extensive research on his leading characters and their roots from the Casitilian region of Spain. Dave has written another book The Man Who Moiled for Gold.
After graduating from the Montana School of Mines, Dave worked in Chile and in New Mexico in a uranium mine. He wrote the book about the colorful life of a miner inspired by his own past work experiences. All the places in the book are based on locations he knew in Bannock, MT. His research on the Nez Perce Indians and the vigilante movement in Montana are the basis for his stories based on actual events. Dave shared that his historical fiction in the Wyakin Trilogy was inspired by a very vivid dream he had about a grizzly bear and how an Indian saved his son.
